High Magick, Alchemy & The Kabbalah

A discussion group for those interested in the Kabbalah, Alchemy and High Magick.

Members: 111
Latest Activity: Dec 24

Welcome!

This is a group for those who are interested in the more 'formal' and theoretical side of magickal practice - namely, the High Arts and the Kabbalah.

High Magick is, essentially, magick which involves Celestial entities and ideas. It is sometimes referred to as "Ceremonial Magic" or "Ritual Magic". The rites are complex and require an interest in the theory of magick as well as the application of and the direction of the Will.

In addition to High Magick, this group will cover other similar and interconnected topics such as Enochian Magic, Chaos Magic, Evocation, Alchemy in all its aspects and, of course, the Mystical Kabbalah.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and to start discussions! You need not know anything about these areas of interest to participate. Let's share and learn together!

Hi all I'm Gabrielle. I'm interested in learning more about Enochian Ritual Magick, Evocation of Spirits, and the Kaballah (which I need more study in)
I have experience in astral projection and dream-work. I'm also intuitive and have worked with psychic self defense.

This looks like a good group!

I got that. Just to make sure, is there any wicca symbolism based handbook for high magick??? :)

MM Rastko

"High Magick in wicca tradition" sounds a bit doesn`t make sense. For
wiccan traditions are religions based on god and goddess, while High magick is any form of Magick that seeks unity with divinity or
communication with Holy Gurdian Angel.

This doesn`t mean wicca doen`t seek unity with divinity, but High Magician generally have belief in their Genius (Holy Gurdian Angel or Inner Voice etc).

Basically High Magick doen`t focus on result-oriented magick.
Rather most of High Magick`s works are focusing on perception of
various parts of the Self and universe and eventually his genius.

Result oriented magick is called Sorcery or Low magic. I am no way
opposed to result oriented magic or any spell. Just wanted to make
sure there is theoretical difference.

MM! I have just some great handbooks on high magick, although I am short with spellbooks.

Here is the question:
Does anyone know a good handbook on how to practice High Magick in Wicca tradition and which spellbook except A.E.Waite's Spellbook do you reccomend me?

My name is Danny Castle, I am currently serving in the US Army and have for a total of 9 years. I have been a witch for over 15 years now. I don't normally do a lot of postings, but I have something I really felt I needed to share with everyone. I have recently been searching for craft related websites and recently ran across a web site denouncing Wiccans. That in and of itself is not a bad thing, I mean I went overseas to fight for religious tolerance and oil, so I can let any kind of fair religious views pass. This website goes several steps beyond anything remotely like fair. But my biggest complaint is that they encourage their members to punish their children with extraordinary measures.
"The only way we can win the war on terrorism, folks, is to destroy the terror of liberalism and evil that exists inside this Christian Nation. It starts with the children. It starts at home. It might be something as simple as organizing a Harry Potter book burning, or placing your child's hands on a hot stove if you catch them masturbating. It could even be a simple gesture, like shipping your 11-year-old son off to military school, or cutting off part of your daughter's ear for listening to N'Sync. We've got to get back to God, folks! We've got to do it fast, and we don't have time to worry about nonsense like "human rights violations!" Jesus"
That is directly from their website. I encourage both of you to call a congressman or some kind of federal agency and strenuously voice your concern for such treatment. The website if you would like to look is:
http://www.landoverbaptist.org
Please pass this knowledge on to others, I have already sent a message to the FBI and to my congressman. Thank you for your time and Blessed Be.

Torey, it's me again.

You asked me to discuss what I find of benefit in the Kabbalah system. I am so new at it that this will not be in depth.

I appreciate the idea that all this wonderful bunch of stories in the Pentateuch is not a literal history of God and His/Her relationship with a bunch of people that were picked to belong to Him/Her.

I can clearly acccept the idea that these stories draw us out and cause us to comtemplate and ask questions.

I can follow (but am not certain that I accept) the idea that there are mathmatical codes which help us to direct our daily path.

It feels right to accept that positive affirmations will set one up to act accordingly and thus increase one's chances of going toward his/her goals.

It feels right to accept that the world and universe have everything in it that is needed for our success. We just need to diligently seek and find the things needed and use them.

It feels right to accept the idea that we have energy fields which can attract better things or worse things, depending on our thought processes.

And that is as far as I know at this time. There are several more lessons for me to study.

Torey, you ask me to think about what I would call a God form and why.
To me there is no God. There is Life, and cycles of birth, development, loss, then death, and possibly rebirth, and possibly nothing. Nothing is evident about the hearafter. Whatever energized and brought about this earth, the solar system, universe, and multiple universes, is very very BIG and very capable of doing something quickly, in an instant. And it is equally possible, in my mind, that something occurred and then it developed given eons and eons of time. EVERYTHING can be part of that LIFE producing force ,or that force can be EVERYTHING. I have no answers!!

HOWEVER, when I observe Nature, I find aspects that I adore, and since I do not know which way this force began, or if it had a beginning, or if it will have an end, I simply am HAPPY and want to express this joy. My best worship of Life, is to enjoy being alive.

At times I simply feel more in touch with that joy by personifying aspects of Nature. I will visualize the nurturing and protective aspects as they might by done by Mother or Father. I contemplate the authority and power of Lord and Lady, and the Natural Law, Directed Power, and the Word and Seal of God and Goddess, who create. I visualize the Crone who is there for the last Act of Dying and Death.

I believe that all that any good or evil is generated within people.

I believe that we can choose who we will be at any given time.

We alone effect change. God wherever, and if ever, is just as inconsistent as we are. No better, no worse!

So much for a God form!!

Thankfully,

PW
